Education for the 18 month - 3 year old children - TIMS Toddlers
For our younger children, this is usually their first experience being away from home. It is important for us to make this great adjustment as easy as possible for both child and mother. Here the children learn the new experience of trusting and interacting with other children and adults. To learn to wait, share and to be part of a group are new and important experiences for them. They are personally cared for individually and encouraged with their toilet training. This early part of social development is accentuated in our school.
The Montessori materials for this age group, similar but simple compared to those for the older ones, are geared to help them to eat, dress, open, close, pour and generally encourage and build their motor skills. The children build, paint, sing, dance, play and observe. These activities both individual and in groups add building blocks to their education gently and with happiness.
