About Us

TIMS is an international, English speaking school with three groups of children mixed in age between 3 and 6 years and one group of toddlers, between 18 months to 36 months. The school day runs from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Early morning care starting at 8:00 a.m. is available if needed. Afterschool activities, usually from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, are offered on most days. Afterschool care is currently provided Mondays to Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and Fridays from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

Montessori Philosophy

The Taunus International Montessori School follows the philosophy and methods developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.

TIMS classrooms offer the children a wide range of Montessori materials. These educational materials have a built-in control of error, allowing the children to see and correct mistakes by themselves. They are designed to be used by the children independently.

Independent work helps each child to develop concentration, coordination, and self-discipline. In addition, the materials are geared to different levels of ability in the classroom, allowing children to move from one level of complexity to another as they are ready.

Our Afterschool Activities

We see movement as the cornerstone of any experience.

Monday – Violin, 15€ per 60 minute session

A highly experienced music teacher introduces the violin and allows the children to discover their love of music.

Tuesday – Music, 6€ per 30 minute session

We sing German and English songs, play musical games, make our own musical instruments, learn how musical instruments work and listen to music for appreciation.

Tuesday – Train with Brain (2 to 3 year-olds) 15 € per 45 minute session
Train with Brain (4 to 6 year-olds) 20 € per 60 minute session

The children learn in a playful way as they go through a course, play catching games, do jumping and balancing exercises and work on their coarse and fine motor skills, the letters and numbers, country flags and the recognition of traffic signs to the children for the Sensitize the dangers of road traffic.

Wednesday – Science, 15€ per 60 minute session

Introduced are basic physical and chemical concepts that encourage the curiosity of the child.

Wednesday – Gym, 15€ per 60 minute session

We aim to help our youngest children use their energy in structured and guided exercises that help them develop their gross motor skills with a smile.

Thursday – Art, 12€ per 60 minute session

Creativity is the focus of this hour. Using various media, the children can let their imagination run wild.

Thursday – Soccer, 12€ per 60 minute session

This class introduces technique, endurance and the game´s rules in a team setting.

Friday – Crafts, 12€ per 60 minute session

The children cut, glue, apply glitter and much more. Crafts made follow the seasonal themes.

Friday – Ball Games, 12€ per 60 minute session

This class introduces rolling, bouncing, throwing and catching. Individual exercises as well as group games allow the children to develop their skills.
